Appetizer: Taralli pretzels , large green olives and a glass of white wine. First course: Trofie pasta with French beans, potatoes, pesto and roasted pine nuts. Second course: Chicken fillets with lemon and fennel seeds. Side dish: Fresh green rocket salad. Dessert: White peaches in white wine with cantucci cookies. Includes dry white wine (Trebbiano d’Abruzzo).
My name is Joanna. I’m half English and half Italian, an artist and art therapist. I live in the Monti neighborhood with my Roman husband Sebastiano. We have our own garden, a large paved area, bordered with flowerbeds, trees, shrubs and flowers. I like to cook with first class fresh produce, which I get at the local market. I follow traditional Italian recipes, sometimes adding a touch of the exotic. I love vegetables and prepare them in many different ways depending on the season. Desserts and puddings are favorites of mine, and with them I’m often inspired by English traditions.
