MASCAGNI MEAT MENU
Cavalleria Rusticana (Rustic Chivalry) Mixed appetizer: Sicilian pecorino cheese (seasoned with pepper corns) and lemon compote, artichoke omelet, cunsato bread (durum wheat freselle with tomatoes, black olives, cucumber, new onions, basil and oregano). First course: Sicilian lamb timbale alla norma, with eggplant, tomatoes and baked ricotta cheese. Second course: Sciusceddu Missinisi (traditional Sicilian dish from Messina with stewed beef in egg and creamed ricotta cheese). Side dishes: Peperonata (potatoes and sweet peppers in sweet and sour sauce with mint), fennel and orange salad with pistachio nuts. Dessert: Caramelized Avola almond pie with hot melted chocolate. Angimbè and Nero d’Avola wine from the Cusumano wine cellar, tinello papale liquors (laurel, cinnamon, cloves, liquorice).
